How To Take Carisoprodol

Take Carisoprodol exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Each dose of should be taken with a full glass of water.
The maximum Carisoprodol dose you should take in one day is 1600 mg of carisoprodol, 2600 mg of aspirin.

Side effects

If any of the following side effects are experienced, stop taking your Carisoprodol and seek emergency medical attention:

An allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives), paralysis (loss of feeling) or extreme weakness, vision loss, agitation or tremor, red, black, or bloody stools, blood in your vomit

While taking Carisoprodol other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue taking Carisoprodol and talk to your doctor if you experience:

drowsiness or dizziness, headache, depression, blurred vision or small pupils, insomnia, hiccups, faint ringing in the ears, nausea, vomiting, or constipation.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Precautions

Do not take Carisoprodol if you have acute intermittent porphyria. Codeine is habit forming and therefore should only be used under close supervision if you have an alcohol or drug addiction.

You may not be able to take Carisoprodol, may require a lower dose or need special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed below. Before taking Carisoprodol , tell your doctor if you have:

kidney disease, liver disease, an ulcer in your stomach or intestines, a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder, urinary retention, an enlarged prostate, hypothyroidism, a head injury or Addison's disease.

It is not known if Carisoprodol will harm an unborn baby. Do not take Carisoprodol without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant. It is not known if Carisoprodol passes into breast milk. Do not take Carisoprodol without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Carisoprodol doses should be at least 4 hours apart.

Carisoprodol is not approved for use in children younger than 12 years of age.

Do not share Carisoprodol with others.

Drug Interactions

Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may take including: sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, narcotic pain relievers, medication for depression, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Many cough-and-cold products contain antihistamines which can cause drowsiness. Check labels carefully and consult your pharmacist if you have any questions. Do not start or stop Carisoprodol or any medication without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Carisoprodol Overdose

If an overdose of Carisoprodol is suspected, seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose of Carisoprodol include headache; ringing in the ears; dim vision, small pupils; nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; sweating; increased thirst; low blood pressure (weakness, fainting, confusion); decreased breathing; and unconsciousness.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Carisoprodol, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next Carisoprodol dose, skip the missed dose and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of Carisoprodol.

Carisoprodol Storage

Store Carisoprodol at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C).
Store away from moisture and sunlight.
Do not store Carisoprodol in the bathroom.

Keep Carisoprodol out of reach of children.
