Taking Famvir

Take famvir exactly as directed by your doctor. Famvir treatment should be started as soon as possible after the first appearance of symptoms (e.g. tingling, burning, blisters).

Famvir should be taken with a full glass of water and can be taken with or without food. If you experience a stomach upset from taking famvir, then taking it with food food may decrease the stomach upset.

Side effects
