Eurax Uses

Eurax is a Scabicidal and antipruritic prescription medication used to treat scabies infection. Scabies occurs when a certain type of mite, like itch mite, buries itself beneath the skin, this results in itching and redness of the affected area of skin.

Eurax may also used to relieve the itching of certain other skin conditions.

How to use Eurax

Use Eurax as instructed by your doctor. Shake well before using. If you are treating scabies, take a bath or shower before applying the solution. Apply the solution over the whole body from the chin downwards. Rub in gently and pay special attention to skin folds and creases.
Change all your clothing and bed linens the next morning, wash them in the hot cycle of your washing machine. A second treatment of Eurax solution should be made in 24 hours. Take a good bath or shower 48 hours after the last Eurax application.
To relieve dry skin, apply a small amount of Eurax to the affected area and rub in gently until the Eurax disappears. Avoid using Eurax on open, irritated or inflamed areas od skin. Avoid using eurax solution near your eyes, mouth or vagina.

Side effects

Tell your doctor if any of the following side effects occur after using Eurax: burning, redness or irritated skin. If you notice other side effects consult your doctor.

Precautions

Tell your doctor if you have any other illnesses or allergies, especially allergies to drugs. Eurax should only be used if clearly needed while you are pregnant or while are breast feeding. Talk to you doctor about the risks and benefits of using Eurax while pregnant or breast feeding.

Drug Interactions

Tell your doctor about any over the counter or prescription medications you are using, especially other skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctors approval.

Overdose

If an overdose of Eurax is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Eurax may be harmful if swallowed.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Eurax, apply the missed dose as soon as remembered, do not apply if it is near the time for your next dose, instead, skip the missed Eurax dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double up the dose to catch up.

Eurax Storage

Eurax should be stored at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C), keep away from heat and light.
